DAILY

When we pray The Lord's prayer..we ask Him to give us our DAILY bread...that would mean that we expect something daily from our Lord. Have you ever thought what He expects from us...those thoughts are with me this morning so that is what I choose to write about.

Daily, He expects us to acknowledge Him. That would mean to be aware of His presence in our lives and to thank Him for all he has done for us. Pray daily.

Daily, He wants us to get to know Him better. That would involve reading a great Book that was meant for each and every one of us...I refer to it as A Divine Guide Book..that would be The Holy Bible..It is probably the most available book to us..but the least read by many of us!

Daily, He wants us to show compassion and kindness to our fellow man....We all know someone that could stand a good word, a smile or a hug....be the one to provide one or all of those to him or her!

Daily, He would ask that we pick up our cross, as He did...not an easy task..and often the burden is far from being light...but, when we think about it..If He could carry all of us..we can handle our share!

Daily, We need to tell Him that we love Him...He loves us unconditionally. We need to show Him that kind of love...and the same for our brothers and sisters.

Daily, We need to humble ourselves..admit that we often fail...but be willing to accept His grace and forgiveness...It is by grace that we are saved..not by anything we do...We don't impress God..He knows we all fall short of what we should be..but he loves us anyway.

Daily..when we see someone less fortunate than ourselves..we need to pray for them and not judge them...and think to ourselves..."There, but for God's grace, go I."..that little phrase was meant to humble us.

There are many things we can do daily to show others that, even in our human condition, we can seek holiness...we can do our best to be the Christians that we profess to be. I am sure many of you can think of a lot more that could be said here. My purpose in writing this was to remind everyone that our Christian walk and our relationship with the Lord is a DAILY thing..not just a Sunday thing...don't isolate God in a building and sing and dance one day of the week...think about Him daily! He is thinking about us every day!

No Smokin’….No Jokin’!

Here it is…January 1, 2008! Here I am to see a new year start again! I think that is something to celebrate..so, strike up the band..me, I will just turn on the radio here in a bit and pour me another cup of coffee! I did actually see the new year in at the strike of midnight last night..with my dear husband! He got a smooch and so did Josie from both of us…she didn’t know what it was all about…but she loved the attention just the same. I don’t know where Kramer was..probably hogging my side of the bed! Jose is hauling him out now in my nice new blanket that him and Josie have claimed as theirs! Spoiled rotten animals! Not much happening here this morning..we are up and I have the radio fired up and he has the TV on….I just gave up the radio..”A Bright, Sun Shiny Day” was just silenced! The new non-smoking law goes into effect today…that should be an interesting event for all the cig lovers here in our fair city…fortunately I am not one of them! I see cigarettes as an addiction I would just as soon do without! I have smoked my share of them in years past and am so glad I gave them up some time ago! My sympathies for those who still have a yen to fire up! I understand what it means to be denied something that you enjoy…but you have to look at the positive side of the new rule…it is for your own good and for the welfare of your fellow man! Your lungs will be happier and so will ours! I know that the new law will not be well-received by a lot of folks…like many laws aren’t…because all those who smoke will feel like their freedoms are being violated…but when you look at the non-smokers view…try to understand that those who don’t smoke are very much violated by having to breathe the smoke from your exhaling all those fumes into the air that we have to breathe also! No offense intended..just the way I see it
