One Last Day

A nice cool morning, looking like it could rain, I couldn't sleep after about 4;30 this morning so decided to read some of the book I've been attempting to finish for quite some time now! I read til about 6. Kramer was nice enough to leave us alone even though he was raring to go about 5. He curled up at the foot of the bed and went back to sleep. Jose wasn't up to the walk this morning , so I took him. We took a different route this morning, because our usual route has a couple of really aggressive pitbulls that literally try to eat the fence to get to us when we go by! So, this morning I took him across Farhnam and by the railroad tracks. It was a peaceful walk and he enjoyed it immensely. We saw lots of rabbits, there was no traffic, and no big dogs to worry about!
The book I'm reading, The Unseen Essential, is actually a book about faith. That's what the title means. The author compares faith to the air we breate. We would not exist long without air to breathe, breathing is essential to life. We can't see the air, but we know we can't live without it.
Faith, although it can't be seen is also essential to our lives. Without faith in God, our lives would be rather meaningless and empty. His promise is a life beyond this life. Isn't it great that we have something to look forward to in eternity? Something beyond our comprehension of life as we experience it here.
Happy Father's Day, guys! May your day be blessed!
