Vacation Day #2

Good Morning! Or should I say Good , cold, wet, yukky morning? I didn't get up til 7 this morning and even Kramer was content to stay in the house! Jose took him out for his morning "duties" and he trotted back in with no more hassles to go bye-bye. And of course, Miss Josie slept thru it all---I put them both out a while ago and it started raining again. I heard Josie crying at the gate so I let them back in.
We had planned to go visit friends at a campsite over by Colona today. We have done this every year for the past 3 or 4 years. Jose's friend, Abe, has a campsite membership at Indian Trails where he spends his vacation every year. His youngest daughter is having her 17th birthday and graduated high school this year. We go to celebrate her birthday and this year her graduation. Since its close to Fathers Day, we throw that in too! Regardless of the weather, we're gonna go!
I have the girls, so they are going also. The dogs are staying home. We took Josie last year and she loved it but I don't think I can manage two dogs & two grandkids all at once!
Last year it was so hot and dry at the campsite........we had went down the day before the party and spent the night. I got very sick about 2am and Jose had to bring me home. It was an awful experience and I shudder to think of it even! I wound up in the emergency room after we got home. I still don't know just what made me sick, I just hope I never get that sick again!
Whatever the day brings, I plan to make the best of it regardless of the weather. It's going to be a fun day to get together with friends. Some we haven't seen since last year! Jose enjoys cooking on his big homemade outside cooker--actually it looks like a giant Wok. He will make arancheras. It is thin strips of steak that are used to make fayitas. He made the salsa last nite.
Believe me, he makes really good mexican food---if you ate his cooking, you'd throw rocks at the local mexican restaurants! Oops, that wasn't very nice. Anyway, let's just say he's a really good cook!
Well, folks, its time I got in gear and got myself ready for the day! And let's hope the rain will cease before long! Adious!

Hope you all have a great time... inspite of this weather! Who ever heard of it being 54 degrees in the middle of the afternoon on June 10th! Makes me want to scream!!!

OK Ruth...
This is Pastor's subliminal message coming through...
Invite Pastor for one of these great dinners that Jose cooks...

Now back to our regularly scheduled post...

Isn't great to have friends that are such good friends that even though you see each other only once a year, you pick up the relationship as if you had seen then just yesterday?
I'm glad you have such friends.
