Jackpot!
We decided to take in a huge rummage sale today, so, after dogwalking ,and coffee and chitchat with the neighbors, we headed for the sale....it was fun and I made off with a big bag of stuff for a grand total of 2.55! I don't know what Jose spent, but he didn't do bad, I'm sure. What fun! He ran into one of his former co-workers he hadn't seen in a long time and I saw one of my co-workers. We went out to breakfast afterwards and then headed for home.....on the way, as we turned down a street close to home, I spotted a tag sale at the OAKS building. We decided to stop and check it out. I was so glad I did because I found something I had been looking for in their basement...there was a flea-market going on. I looked through all the miscellaneous junk and couldn't find anything I couldn't live without...Jose found his way down and was ready to go home...Then I spotted a stack of books by the door. I thought I saw what looked like a bible under one of the bigger books and I lifted it to see. Sure enough, there was the very bible I had been looking for..You see, several monthes ago I had gotten a bible cover at a resale store, simply because it was a really good buy and I thought even if I didn't have a bible to fit it, maybe I could give it to someone who did! I was so happy to find that bible because it is just the right size and fits perfect! And I needed a good bible because the one I have is kinda falling apart. I also like it because it's a King James version bible. So, today, I'm a happy camper and proud of my bargain.......I asked the lady upstairs how much the bible was and she said all the books in the basement were .25.... I couldn't believe it! So, when I got home, I had to tell the neighbor about my find. He asked me if I had read the bible from cover to cover. I told him no.
He said he had! He also said his father had also....I think that's great! He said he'd read the bible while watching baseball games and would pray for his team to win! I don't know about that one, but I guess; whatever it takes!...that's as good as incentive as any! Sometimes the neighbor guy is funny, remember, he's also our weatherman! Still, I think it's a great accomplishment to have read the whole bible from cover to cover!! I'll bet that was a bunch of baseball games, too!
Jose just took Ashley to the dollar store to buy colored pencils...I found her a snowflake coloring book at the rummage sale today and she is itching to do something in it. So, its just me and the dogs for a while....kinda nice. I shut the tv off for some quiet time....sometimes tv really gets on my nerves and most of the time its just on for the noise and nobody is really into the program!
My brother called me from Michigan last night. He is on another motorcycle adventure..he started out with two other guys. One had a problem with his bike and had to turn back at Bloomington... but Bob and his other buddy are still goin' strong and having fun. I think this is a ten day trip....he informed me the other day that he plans on taking a trip to Guatemala perhaps next year on the motorcycle.............sometimes I fear for this man's sanity, folks! But, I guess, if he made it to Alaska and back, he's good to go to Guatemala!
Only two more days left of the vacation. I'm ready to get back in the swing of things, and that means work of course...I don't want to get spoiled and lazy!! The first day back will be drudgery, most likely but I can deal with it! I just hope that there's no major drama going on as I can do without that! I never got to hear the outcome of the "drama" when I stopped by the other day.. and I will know better not to bring it up when I go back because I'm sure that will be at least a twenty minute to half hour dissertation!!! ouch!
That's all from me today ,folks...........will be looking forward to church in the morning.........you all be there! And to all those who don't go to my church.........hope you go to yours!

Nice buys! My wife would be envious. She loves a good sale. She and her mom can spot a yard sale sign a mile away. And her dad is notorious for making quick turns onto the right streets.
Myself, I would pass them out and avoid them if I could. But, I am happy to find a good buy. After all, it was at a yard sale that my wife got my awesome ping pong paddle - for $5! We even got extra paddles that weren't as good quality and lots of ping pong balls. So, really my paddle only cost about $2. To put it in perspective, in the store it would have been between $30-40.
