Retraction
This morning I found out something that kind of dissapointed me. We don't live in Monkey- town!
We stopped to talk with an elderly gentleman we see quite a lot when we walk the dogs. He used to live on our street years ago (post depression) and he said that monkeytown was on the other side of the tracks. So, in actuality, we border Monkeytown. He gave us a brief history of his childhood and told of how he ran a small grocery store down the street from us when he was a young boy. The building is still there! Can you imagine a twelve year old running a grocery store today! Times have changed drastically since he was young. The converstion turned to railroad days. We took my granddaughter to the carnival last nite. Three of the bigger rides weren't even operating. Kids were pushing ahead of others in line to get to the ticket booth and to the rides.
There were fights and the language coming from some of the kids was horrible! We stayed a couple hours and Ashley got to ride most of the rides. She saved the ring of fire for last. She had fun. I doubt that we will go next year. The carnival atmosphere leaves something to be desired!
It looks as though we have a nice day in store for us. Jose got more clearance flowers yesterday, so I'm going to see if there's anyplace left to put them. Josie is out in the backyard "crying" because the grass is still wet(she hates anything pretaining to water!) So, time to start the day................Adious amigos and amigas!
