Kramer's Okay!

Well, folks, the 4th has come and gone, without much todo here. I had the girls over for a cookout. We did hotdogs and burgers on the grill. I was too tired from work to go to the fireworks, so I took the youngest home and the oldest went to her friends house to spend the night. I retired to the couch for a nice nap! Woke up about 8pm and went outside for a while to check my doggies. Kramer , as I had mentioned earlier, has been under the weather. He spent one night in the garage. Jose said he broke a window trying to get out! Last nite he spent in the basement and it was a good night as he hadn't had an accident all night, so maybe we can actually trust him upstairs tonite! Poor guy! He has been really hungry today, but I'm still cautious about feeding him too much. Josie, on the other hand, is her old self and has been ruthless in her treatment of poor Kramer. She has been pestering him, wanting to play and chewing on his ears every chance she gets! I'm posting this outside in the backyard and he is laying on the picnic table to avoid her. Not that she couldn't get up there if she wanted to, she's just too lazy!
It is a wonderful day today, especially for July. Nice and cool and breezy. If only the weather could stay this way! The neighbors wrens have left the nest and the parents are flitting around in the Chinese elm. I hope they start another family. Wrens are my favorite bird! I love to watch them and listen to their chatter in the morning. This particular pair is a different variety of wren--they are bigger than most of the wrens I have seen and they even sound different. I need to get out the bird book and see which species they are! I see that the little ones have not gone! One is sitting on the fence chirping at me! I'll have to run in and call the neighbors and tell them to come check them out, as they think they all left! Do I sound like a bird enthusiast or what? Life's little pleasures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bye now!
